Estimator Apprentice


Job Summary

As an Estimator Apprentice, you will learn the collision repair estimating process while supporting our Estimators, Repair Managers, and customer service team. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in growing within the auto body repair industry.


Key Responsibilities

· Assist Estimators with inspecting vehicles and documenting visible damage.

· Take photos of vehicle damage and upload required information into repair files.

· Help prepare, review, and update repair estimates under the guidance of an experienced Estimator.

· Learn how to identify repair needs, parts requirements, labor operations, and potential supplements.

· Communicate with customers, insurance representatives, vendors, and internal team members as directed.

· Support the repair planning process by helping gather information needed to move repairs forward.

· Assist with ordering or tracking parts as needed.

· Maintain accurate notes, documentation, photos, and updates in the repair management system.

· Help monitor repair file status and communicate updates to the appropriate team members.

· Follow company procedures, safety guidelines, and industry standards.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Legal authorization to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications

· Preferred Bachelors degree.

· Preferred experience in the automotive industry.

· Ability to speak Spanish a plus.


Core Competencies / Skills

· Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document vehicle damage, photos, notes, and repair information.

· Willingness to learn the collision repair estimating process, industry terminology, and repair procedures.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers, insurance partners, vendors, and team members.

· Ability to stay organized, manage multiple repair files, and follow up on open tasks.

· Basic computer skills, including email, typing, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn repair management and estimating software.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ask questions, receive feedback, and apply learning.

· Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support Estimators, Repair Managers, technicians, and office staff.


Working Hours

· This role is full-time in office Monday through Friday with start and stop times to be determined by manager.


Physical Requirements

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment throughout the workday.

· Ability to occasionally lift or move vehicle parts, boxes, or supplies up to 50 pounds.


Compensation & Benefits

· This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.

· Eligible employees may elect to participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision benefit plans, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.

· The Company offers a 401(k) retirement savings plan with an employer matching contribution, in accordance with plan provisions.
