Job Summary
The Experienced Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, communicating with customers and insurance companies, and helping guide the repair process from start to finish. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced collision repair environment. The Experienced Estimator works closely with customers, insurance partners, technicians, Repair Managers, and the Parts team to ensure repairs are properly documented, approved, prioritized, and completed according to company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Inspect damaged vehicles and prepare accurate, complete repair estimates.
· Document vehicle damage with clear notes, photos, repair procedures, and supporting information.
· Communicate with customers throughout the repair process and provide timely status updates.
· Explain repair recommendations, timelines, insurance processes, and next steps to customers in a professional and helpful manner.
· Work directly with insurance companies to submit estimates, supplements, documentation, and approvals.
· Identify additional damage, missed operations, parts needs, and supplement opportunities as repairs progress.
· Partner with technicians and Repair Managers to review repair plans, prioritize work, and help keep repairs moving efficiently.
· Communicate parts needs clearly to the Parts Manager to help ensure the correct parts are ordered and available.
· Monitor repair file status and follow up on open items, approvals, parts delays, and customer communication.
· Help resolve repair-related questions, customer concerns, insurance issues, and workflow challenges.
· Ensure estimates and repair plans align with company procedures, safety requirements, OEM repair guidelines, and industry standards.
· Maintain accurate records in the estimating and repair management systems.
· Support a positive customer experience while balancing quality, efficiency, and repair accuracy.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum 5 years of experience working in the automotive industry.
· Minimum 3 years writing estimates within an auto collision repair shop.
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
· Preferred experience with CCC One.
· Preferred Bachelors degree in Business or related field.
· Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

· Strong understanding of parts, labor operations, supplements, and repair documentation.
· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, insurance representatives, technicians, Repair Managers, and the Parts team.
· Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain the repair process, answer questions, and manage concerns with professionalism.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex repair, insurance, parts, and customer situations.
· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and proper documentation.
· Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple repair files, and follow up on open items in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with estimating software, repair management systems, email, and general computer use.
· Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments to keep repairs moving forward.
Working Hours
· This role is full-time in office Monday through Friday with start and stop times to be determined by manager.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment throughout the workday.
· Ability to occasionally lift or move vehicle parts, boxes, or supplies up to 35 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits
· This is a salaried, exempt position and is not eligible for overtime pay.
