Unique Auto Body: Your Local Shop for Expert Auto Body Repair

Getting your car damaged is rarely just about the car. Maybe someone tapped your bumper in the Smith's parking lot, or a rock off a gravel truck on I-15 dented your hood. Either way, the dent is the easy part to think about. The harder questions come right after: How do I deal with the insurance? How long am I stuck without a vehicle? And is this shop going to fix it the right way, or just make it look okay until the first cold snap?

Unique Auto Body exists to take those questions off your plate. We run seven shops across the Wasatch Front — West Jordan, Midvale, Midvale Central, South Jordan, Saratoga Springs, American Fork, and Lindon — so there's usually one near home or work. And we repair just about anything on the road here, from work trucks and family SUVs to luxury cars and EVs like Tesla and Rivian. The goal never changes: get your vehicle back to the way it was before the accident, structurally sound and safe, not just shiny.

Why the shop you pick actually matters

Two repairs can look identical in the parking lot and be completely different underneath. Today's vehicles are built from mixed materials — high-strength steel, aluminum, sometimes carbon composites — and packed with sensors that run lane-keeping, automatic braking, and blind-spot alerts. Fix one of those cars with outdated methods and you can end up with something that looks repaired but no longer protects you the way the manufacturer engineered it to. On Utah roads, where winter salt, canyon runs, and summer hail all take their turn on your paint and panels, that difference shows up fast.

This is why our credentials aren't just wall decoration. Unique Auto Body is I-CAR Gold Class certified, a level most shops never reach, and we hold manufacturer certifications for more than twenty brands — including Tesla, Rivian, Ford, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Subaru, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, and the full GM family. Those certifications mean we follow the exact repair procedures each automaker specifies, with the equipment and parts they require. So when your car's ADAS cameras need recalibrating after a bumper replacement, that step doesn't quietly get skipped.

Electric vehicles are a good example of why this matters. A Tesla or Rivian isn't just a gas car with a battery — it's an aluminum-intensive body with a high-voltage pack that has to be handled by trained technicians using the right procedures. Plenty of shops will take the job and improvise. We're certified to do it correctly, which protects both the vehicle and the people working on it.

We don't cut corners on materials either. We use OEM parts where the repair calls for them, match color with computerized systems so a new panel blends into paint that's spent years fading in the Utah sun, and measure frame work with laser systems against factory specs — not "close enough." "and we back our repairs with a written warranty."

There's local history here too. Our West Jordan shop carries on the legacy of Dave's Body Shop, an 83-year-old fixture in the community that we took over — a reminder that we're not a pop-up chain, we're part of the neighborhoods we serve.

What we fix

Most of what rolls through our doors falls into a handful of categories:

  • Collision and accident damage. Everything from a rear-end tap to a serious impact. We look for the hidden structural damage that doesn't show up at first glance, because that's the part that matters for your safety.

  • Paintless dent repair. Ideal for door dings and Utah's hail season, as long as the paint isn't broken. It's faster and cheaper because we're working the metal back into shape rather than repainting.

  • Auto painting and refinishing. Computerized color matching, a durable clear coat, and custom work when you want something different.

  • Frame and structural repair. Laser measurement brings the frame back to spec so the car drives — and crashes — the way it's supposed to.

  • Bumper repair and replacement. Often we can refinish a scuffed or cracked bumper instead of replacing the whole thing, which keeps money in your pocket.

We handle the smaller stuff too — cloudy headlight restoration, curb-rashed wheels, and cosmetic touch-ups — the details that keep a car looking cared for and protect its resale value down the line.

How it actually goes

Here's what working with us looks like. You book online or call, and when you bring the car in we do a real inspection instead of a glance-and-guess. You get a free, written estimate, and an estimator walks you through it — what's damaged, what it takes to fix, and why. No fine-print surprises three weeks later.

Once you approve the work, our technicians get going, and we keep you posted however you actually want to hear from us, whether that's a quick text or a phone call. Before you get the keys back, the car goes through a final quality check and a clean-up, so it's ready to drive off looking its best.

We also try to make being without your car less of a headache. Our Saratoga Springs shop has Enterprise Rent-A-Car right on site, and our American Fork location has Blink DC fast-charging stations, so an EV isn't sitting on empty while it waits. Small things, but they add up when you're mid-repair and trying to keep your week moving.

Then there's the insurance piece — the part most people dread. We handle it directly. We work with every major carrier and have direct repair relationships with eleven of them, including Progressive, State Farm, USAA, Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, and Bear River Mutual. That means less paperwork for you and less back-and-forth with adjusters. And whatever an insurer suggests, the choice of shop is legally yours — we're glad to work with whatever coverage you carry.

Come see us

If your car's banged up and you're not sure where to start, start with a free estimate. There's no obligation, and you'll leave knowing exactly what you're dealing with — the damage, the fix, and roughly how long it'll take. That's usually enough to turn a stressful morning into a plan you can actually work with.
